Weekly Wrap Up: May 12, 2018 #ARWX

Welcome to another Weekly Wrap Up! This week didn’t receive any rain, but the weather was hot, and we received a solid taste of what summer will feel like (yuck!). Next week looks to be another scorcher, although some rain chances are on the way around mid-week. Since I am still awaiting a weather station resolution, here’s a look at some Earth Networks weather stations from around the Natural State this evening (images courtesy of Earth Networks Sferic Maps).

Here’s a look at temperatures across the state, both from NWS weather stations and Earth Networks weather stations, as well as a look at the pollen amounts across the state for the allergy sufferers in Arkansas (maps courtesy of Baron Threat Net and Earth Networks Sferic Maps).

Here’s a look at the seven-day extended forecast for Hot Springs showing the horribly hot week ahead!

Weekly Wrap Up: April 21, 2018 #ARWX

Welcome everyone to another Weekly Wrap Up! This week saw a little cooler weather arrive to the Natural State, as well as no rainfall over the past week (although we finally got some rain today!). Due to my weather station still being offline, I’ll be dispensing with a look at temperatures over the past week and current conditions, plus I’ll be dispensing with the seven-day extended forecast this week again in hopes for it to return next week. As soon as I have a weather station online again, I’ll be bringing back the temperature graphs and current conditions.

Here’s a look at the current high-res Arkansas radar showing moderate showers across the state, plus a look at current temperatures across Arkansas this evening from both NWS and Earth Networks weather stations (maps courtesy of Baron Threat Net and Earth Networks Sferic Maps).

I haven’t had much of a chance this week to read much weather news, but here’s the weather news I’ve had a chance to read this past week:

Weekly Wrap Up: April 15, 2018 #ARWX

Hi everyone! I apologize for posting my Weekly Wrap Up a day late this weekend, but I’ve been doing some preparation work for my PhD program that has kept me swamped over the weekend. This Weekly Wrap Up will be a little briefer than usual, but I still wanted to get one in this weekend! I’ll be dispensing with the seven-day extended forecast, as well as due to my weather station still being offline, I cannot post any graphics of my weather station’s conditions. Earth Networks is working on likely getting me a replacement weather station coming up I’ll be able to get online and use again.

We received 2.59 inches of rainfall on my CoCoRaHS gauge out of the rain event from April 13-14. We also received .09″ of rain this week on April 7 (I’ll dispense with a formal graphic due to time constraints this weekend). While it was warm this past week, this weekend has naw near freezing temperatures over the weekend with a Freeze Warning in effect for much of the state. Here’s a look at the Freeze Warning map, as well as temperatures across the state (both NWS and Earth Networks weather stations, maps courtesy of Baron Threat Net and Earth Networks Sferic Maps).

Weekly Wrap Up: April 7, 2018 #ARWX

Welcome to another Weekly Wrap Up! Unfortunately, my weather station started having major issues last weekend, so I am unable to post current conditions or this week’s past temperatures from my weather station on here. I’m working with Earth Networks to work on getting the issue resolved coming up (likely my weather station is going to need to be replaced). In the meantime, we’ll get straight to this week’s rainfall from my CoCoRaHS rain gauge in Hot Springs, Arkansas.

Here is a look at the current temperatures across Arkansas (both NWS and Earth Networks weather stations), plus Arkansas will be under a Freeze Warning beginning at 1AM Sunday morning for the entire state (maps courtesy of Baron Threat Net and Earth Networks Sferic Maps).

Here’s a look at the Future Temperatures map for 1AM Sunday from the Baron forecast model, WSI 4K RPM model, and the GFS, NAM 3K, and HRRR forecast models (some maps courtesy of Tropical Tidbits). Some models are tending to shift the temperatures to the warm side. Likely a combination of the Baron and HRRR are going to be the most accurate temperatures this evening.

Here’s a look at the seven-day extended forecast for Hot Springs. A few minor rain chances this week, and while it’s freezing tonight, we’re headed for a warm up next week!

Weekly Wrap Up: March 31, 2018 #ARWX

Welcome to another Weekly Wrap Up! This week saw a little disappointment in terms of the rain event for us. We got a little rain out of the event, but not as much as I thought we would. Some parts of the state did receive more rain, and there’s still a few areal flood warnings into effect. Here’s a look at the rainfall I received this past week on my CoCoRaHS rain gauge, as well as a look at temperatures this past week on my Earth Networks weather station in Hot Springs.

Here’s a look at the current conditions on my Earth Networks weather station in Hot Springs, as well as temperatures across the state this evening (both NWS and Earth Networks weather stations). Here’s also a look at the current high-res radar showing showers across the state with some storms out in Oklahoma. Beautiful view on my Earth Networks HD Camera in Hot Springs earlier today! (Maps courtesy of Baron Threat Net and Earth Networks Sferic Maps).

Here’s a look at the seven-day extended forecast for Hot Springs. A few additional chances of rain this week, but the showers seem not overly intense for Easter Sunday.

Here’s a look at some interesting weather news over the past week:

Here’s also a look at some reports from our team of WeatherTogether contributors this past week. Thanks for keeping your reports coming in!

Finally, I hope everyone has a blessed Easter and Resurrection Sunday!

Weekly Wrap Up: March 17, 2018 #ARWX

Welcome to another Weekly Wrap Up and have a Happy St. Patrick’s Day! This week brought a warm up to the Natural State reminding us that Spring and Summer are around the corner! We also saw a few sprinkles of rain this week, but not much. Take a look at this week’s past temperatures on my Earth Networks weather station here in Hot Springs, as well as a look at the few sprinkles of rain we received on my CoCoRaHS rain gauge in Hot Springs.

Here’s a look at current conditions on my Earth Networks weather station in Hot Springs, as well as a look at current temperatures across the state this evening (both NWS and Earth Networks weather stations). Here’s also a look at the current high-res radar for Arkansas and the FutureScan radar for 11:00 PM, plus a look at the Earth Networks PulseRad lightning intensity (not traditional radar) and lightning near Arkansas (maps courtesy of Baron Threat Net and Earth Networks Sferic Maps). Here’s also a look at my Earth Networks HD weather cam in Hot Springs from earlier today.

The Natural State could see another round of storms move through tomorrow, which I’ll be monitoring and tracking on my Twitter. The Baron forecast model shows the storms moving into Hot Springs around 4PM. The WSI RPM model shifts them to the west a little around that time, with the NAM 3K keeping them still in Oklahoma. The HRRR is only going out to 3PM at the moment, but it’s showing the storms moving into Hot Springs around 3PM (some maps courtesy of Tropical Tidbits and AllisonHouse Maps).

Here’s a look at the rainfall accumulations for midnight Monday for the Baron and WSI RPM models. The GFS and NAM 3K are for 1AM Monday.

Here’s a look at the seven day extended forecast for Hot Springs. Expect high temperatures mostly in the 60’s to 70’s with increasing rain chances as we get into next weekend.

Here’s a look at interesting weather news stories over the past week:

Here’s a look at some of our featured weather blogs from WeatherTogether contributors over the past week. Thanks for continuining to send in your blog reports, and if you’re not a WeatherTogether contributor yet, come join us!

Finally, I hope everyone has a great St. Patrick’s Day! It’s unfortunately the day that Hot Springs makes a laughter of itself with our world’s shortest parade (this year is no joke featuring an inflatable pub and everything but a partridge in a pear tree!). For those who want to know the story behind St. Patrick’s Day, check out a biographical sketch I prepared on St. Patrick over at another blog I contribute to.
