Weekly Wrap Up: April 6, 2019

Welcome to another Weekly Wrap Up! This week saw both warm and cool temperatures, as well as beautiful days and stormy days. Today saw some storms, heavy rain, and lightning. Here’s a look at rain totals over the past week from my CoCoRaHS rain gauge in Hot Springs (today’s total coming in next week’s report).

Here’s a look at the current regional satellite and high-res radar, as well as a look at the current Earth Networks Total Lightning and PulseRad lightning intensity (not traditional radar) for the region (maps and images courtesy of Baron Threat Net and Earth Networks Sferic Maps).

Here’s a look at temperatures across the state (from both NWS and Earth Networks weather stations), as well as current conditions from Earth Networks weather stations across Arkansas this evening.

Here’s a look at the seven-day extended forecast for Hot Springs. More rain in the forecast for a couple of days!

Finally, I had a great time at Kroger this past Wednesday assisting with programming NOAA weather radios with KARK4 and FOX16, the Arkansas Storm Team Chief Meteorologists Keith Monahan and Jeff Baskin, as well as Joe from the National Weather Service, and the great team of people at Kroger in Hot Springs (including my friends Joe and Valerie). We had an excellent turn out! If I can get some video from my DVR, I’ll post it here. In the meantime, here’s some pictures from Andrew on Twitter who took pictures of the event.
